Camp Myeerah
is a 485-acre Girl Scout camp located in
Logan County, approximately six miles
east of Bellefontaine. Camp Myeerah
offers year round use of a lodge and
troop house as well as seasonal use of
platform tents, tree houses, covered
wagons and a lake house. Campers can
explore the terrain carved out by
glaciers, a historic log cabin, or enjoy
the boardwalk that winds through the
wetland marsh feeding into the camp’s
Lake McDonnell.

|

Weekend in the Woods camps at Camp Myeerah are the perfect opportunities for a Girl Scout to spend a special weekend with their female/male adult role
model. One date is for Girl Scouts and their female role model and one date is for Girl Scouts and their male role model. Productive and positive adult role
models are a critical part to a Girl Scout’s development and at these Weekend in the Woods camps, all adults contribute to the success of their camper. Whether girls and parents/guardians have camped a lot or not at all, this camp will bring you closer as you participate in activities together and build valuable life skills.
Girls, along with their participating adult, can tailor their camping experience to meet their own personal needs and interests. Not only do the Weekend in the Woods camps offer opportunities to participate in either staff led or Girl Scout Program Assistant led activities, but designated activity times also allow the opportunity for a girl and her parent/ guardian to take an off -site field trip or borrow available materials to do an “on your own” activity. Campers will receive an activity schedule in the confirmation to plan your weekend activities.

- Treehouses
- Platform Tents
- Covered Wagons
- Troop House
All structures for sleeping are considered open air camping, except for the Troop House which is cabin style. In your confirmation packet, campers will receive a form to request accommodations and will be placed “first-come, first-served” according to receipt of requests. Pairs are not guaranteed their first picks. Girl Scout Brownies will have priority for being placed in the Troop House.
All sites are equipped with running water, latrines
and a shelter house. There is a shower house at the
covered wagon unit which is accessible to campers
using other sites. Indoor showers are also available
to all campers in the main Lodge, as well as a refrigerator and freezer. The Troop House is equipped
with a refrigerator, freezer, stove, showers and flush
toilets, available only to the campers sleeping there.
Parent/Guardian stays at the same unit as their girl,
during the Weekend in the Woods camps, however,
the adults are not permitted to sleep in the same structure as the girls.

Meals will be provided at the Lodge, available for
all campers to enjoy. Campers will receive a menu
with their confirmation. Camp meals are optional.
Camping allows girls to build outdoor skills and self
sufficiency and that’s why girls and adults participate
in making their own meals and cleaning up with the
guidance of camp staff .
|

No, adults are not required to be Camp Certified,
however, all adult and girl campers are required to attend an orientation from the camp staff on the first night of camp. Any activities that require certification will be provided by a qualified staff member or
volunteer.

The parent/guardian accompanying the girl is
responsible for adequately supervising their girl and
participating with her in activities. The camp staff and Program Assistants can provide camp expertise and leadership for the program activities.
Any adult attending Weekend in the Woods camps
MUST be a registered Girl Scout. Each adult can have
up to 2 girls attending camp with them.

Camp t-shirts and patches can be pre-ordered. See
the bottom of the Weekend in the Woods camp
registration form for pre-ordering.

Included in the confirmation will be a schedule for
the weekend with:
- Activity options
- Menus for meals
- Options for sleeping accommodations
Girls and their adult role model must make choices, complete the forms and send back to the regional Girl Scout Center, indicating their preferences of activities and sleeping accommodations and which meals
they will be attending.

This is a call out to all Girl Scout Cadette, Seniors and
Ambassadors who have completed or will have completed the Girl Scout Program Aide program or the Girl Scout Counselor-In-Training program. Girls interested in helping at camp will facilitate camp activities, lead hikes and help with meals. Girls can choose to lead for part of a weekend or the whole weekend.
Any Girl Scout that is interested in this camp
leadership opportunity must complete an
application and interview process. Contact
Kelda Heitkamp at 419-225-4085 ext. 37 for an
application.

Logan County and the surrounding areas are rich
in history with many local attractions. Planning a
visit to a nearby location can enhance a camping
experience. If interested, adults are responsible for
planning with their girls and scheduling a visit with
the activity provider. Individuals are responsible for
any additional fees and off -site travel arrangements.
Individuals visiting other locations are responsible
for adhering to Safety Wise standards and obtaining
proper insurance coverage.
