Located near the Little Miami river on 505 acres of land Camp Whip-Poor-Will has a wide variety of living areas from platform tents to Conestoga wagons. Ravines give way to small creeks which make excellent spots for creek hikes and fossil hunting. A small pond, high ropes, and low ropes as well as an archery range, swimming pool and craft area are other features at Camp Whip-Poor-Will.


Note: Day Camp opportunities for Buckeye Trails Region will be held at Camp Butterworth.


RESIDENT CAMP

 

SPECIALTY SESSIONS

These sessions are designed to let girls focus on a specialty of their choice. While focusing on the theme of their camp opportunity girls will also get a chance to participate in other camp activities such as swimming, hiking, nature activities, archery, and arts and crafts.

 

 

BROWNIE BONANZA

Grades Entering: 1-3

Hey Brownie Girl Scouts, this session is made just for you! Explore all the exciting fun at camp. Spend the week doing it all from swimming, hiking, and cooking over the fire to doing really cool arts and crafts and making new friends.

NATURE NUTZ

Grades Entering: 1-3

Have fun at camp while you go on a nature hunt, learn how to make trail signs, tie knots, and go on a creek hike. Don’t worry there will be plenty of time to do arts and crafts, swim and cook something over the fire while exploring the out of doors.

GROSSOLOGY

Do you think making a mess is a sign of
having a good time? Prepare to make the slimiest ooziest, gooiest, grossest stuff you can. Experiment with all sorts of things and have fun making a mess.

EXPLORERS

Spend the week going on day trips to various places in and around Cincinnati. You might attend a Cincinnati Red’s game, take a cooking lesson at Jungle Jims, and/or go to the Art Museum and more.

CAMP SCENE INVESTIGATORS (CSI)

Grades Entering: 4-6

Have you always wanted to be a detective? Spend the week solving a camp crime. You will search for clues, collect evidence, and find out what really happened. You’ll even have to interview suspects to crack the case. Pack your bags for suspense.

TAKE AIM

Ready, aim; shoot your bow and arrow. Spend extra time with the camp archery specialist and learn how to be an archer. You’ll even get to have your own archery tournament.

LITTLE CAMP ON THE PRAIRIE

Grades Entering: 4-6

Return to the 1800’s. Enter the world of Pioneers and Native Americans! Play games, make candles, butter and toys all from this era. You’ll also learn a Native American dance, writing and make your own tribal jewelry.

HOGWARTS EXPRESS

Get on board the Hogwarts Express where the world of Harry Potter comes to life. Learn to play Quidditch, make wizardry crafts, and have your own Hogwarts meal. Discover the origins of hippogriffs and grindylows and you meet other Harry Potter fans.
